Community-Driven Research for Adapting to Willapa Bay’s Rapidly Changing North Shore

Silhouette Jaenette

Jaenette was the first model for a picture station sculpture. Not surprising because she helps out in many, many community projects. In fact one of her favorite times in North Cove was the Easter beach trash pickup. The beach remains a strong connection with clamming and crabbing, bringing her great joy. Since she made this town her home in 2016, her energy and booster spirit has shaped the momentum for saving our homes.

Photography is a central part of Coasts – Cameras – Action. We wanted to highlight local photographers to inspire folks to provide photos for shoreline analysis. Jaenette is known for her beautiful sunset posts on social media but few of us know her professional past. She ran a business in Pierce County photographing children, particularly with horses that she would provide for birthday parties. Her mobile photography business was known as Just Horse’n Round.

Jaenette is prepping the old Minute Mart for the reopening of The Knotty Siren at Warrenton Cannery Road. She brings her crafts to various vendor events throughout Twin Harbors. Silhouette Jaenette keeps watch on the beach while fully functional Jaenette zips through our town in an orange convertible helping out wherever she can.
