Last Friday, Aljazeera America did a news story on the rapid erosion issues of Washaway Beach. The story, Washaway Beach: a Disappearing Pacific Coastline, interviews both a resident and realestate agent of the area, in addition to providing background information and shoreline change data provided by CHRN member George Kaminsky.

WA Department of Ecology is currently working with Washaway Beach to address the continued challenges of developing management strategies to adapt to the extreme conditions. Ecology is providing technical assistance to analyze shoreline erosion trends, in addition to further research to provide the local government of Washaway Beach with the information to make effective management decisions.
