NOAA is also planning to record this webinar and post it on the NOAA Central Library YouTube channel. Please contact katie.rowley@noaa.gov to request live captioning or an American sign language interpreter.
DATE/TIME: June 17th, 3:30-4:30 EST, 12:30-1:30 PST
PRESENTERS: Camille Crain, Section Chief for FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program
DESCRIPTION: BRIC will also be providing many other webinars open to the public during July-September, with the Notice of Federal Funding Opportunity anticipated to be released Summer/Fall 2020. BRIC, authorized by the Disaster Recovery Reform Act of 2018, provides FEMA with a steady stream of funding year-to-year for pre-disaster hazard mitigation projects, and a unique and exciting opportunity to shift toward proactive investment in community resilience. This program replaces FEMA’s Pre-Disaster Mitigation program and supports states, local communities, tribes, and territories, as they undertake hazard mitigation projects reducing the risks they face from disasters and natural hazards. BRIC’s guiding principles are supporting communities through capability and capacity-building; encouraging and enabling innovation; promoting partnerships; enabling large projects; maintaining flexibility; and providing consistency.
