Larson, Ann
Ann Larson has worked as a senior policy advisor and tribal liaison in state government for over 15 years. She is the Special Assistant to the Director at the WA Department of Enterprise Services serving as the agency’s expert for environmental, energy and climate initiatives. Ann also leads strategic planning efforts for long-term, large-scale, and politically sensitive capital projects with statewide, regional and national significance. She is leading the Deschutes Estuary Restoration Project which will restore 260 acres of estuarine and salt marsh habitat at the mouth of the Deschutes River which will increase climate resiliency across downtown Olympia. Prior to state government, Ann worked for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the San Juan Islands studying human impacts on the endangered Southern Resident killer whales to better understand contributing factors for the population’s decline and their sensitivity to climate change. Ann currently serves on the State Efficiency and Environmental Performance Office, Washington’s Interagency Electrical Vehicle Coordinating Council, and Olympia Sea Level Response Plan.
