Bell, Henry
Henry Bell is a coastal planner at the Washington State Department of Ecology. He provides planning expertise and community assistance on coastal resilience and climate change while also overseeing operations for Washington’s Coastal Zone Management Program. Henry’s work involves leading and supporting place-based partnerships and projects that improve community resilience to coastal hazards. In particular, he is passionate about working with underserved populations to address inequities that are linked to natural hazards and other coastal management issues. Henry also co-manages the Coastal Hazards Resilience Network.
Henry holds a master’s degree in marine and environmental affairs from the University of Washington and received his bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental studies from Middlebury College. Prior to his work at the Department of Ecology, Henry taught international ocean policy for Sea Education Association, a nonprofit research organization and undergraduate education program.
