Coastal Planner, Washington State Department of Ecology

Henry Bell is a coastal planner at the Washington State Department of Ecology. He provides technical planning expertise and community assistance on coastal resilience and climate change while also overseeing operations for Washington’s Coastal Zone Management Program. Henry’s work involves leading and supporting place-based resilience partnerships and projects that improve community resilience to coastal hazards. In addition, Henry co-manages the Coastal Hazards Resilience Network.

Henry holds a master’s degree in marine and environmental affairs from the University of Washington and received his bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental studies from Middlebury College. Prior to his work at the Department of Ecology, Henry taught international ocean policy for Sea Education Association, a nonprofit research organization and undergraduate education program.
