WSU King County Extension Director & Assistant Professor, 4-H Youth Development

Alyssa Bowers is the Washington State University King County Extension Director and an Assistant Professor of 4-H Youth Development, bringing over 10 years of experience in nonformal education and the nonprofit sector. She previously worked with a nonprofit funder and served as the 4-H Youth Development Agent for UF/IFAS Extension in Pinellas County, Florida. Alyssa holds an MS in Agricultural Education and Communications and a BS in Animal Science from the University of Florida, along with a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Tampa. Her passions include community capacity building, facilitation, and youth development, with extensive experience in nonformal education and urban program development. Committed to educating youth and communities on climate change and sustainability, Alyssa developed a youth climate change curriculum at the University of Florida.
