Sara Brostrom coordinates the Coastal Training Program at the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, which is part of the Washington State Department of Ecology. The Coastal Training Program provides learning opportunities for professionals working along the shorelines and wetlands of Washington State.

Before this role, Sara taught middle school science for a decade, both in the classroom and at NatureBridge in the Olympic National Park. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Washington University, a Master of Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Washington.
