Burgos, Alessandra
Alessandra (Ali) Burgos is the project manager for the Cascadia CoPes Hub with Oregon State University. She manages the Hub to foster collaboration and connections with coastal communities from Northern California to the Salish Sea in Washington to increase community adaptive capacities to coastal hazards.
Ali previously worked for NOAA with the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science as a Sea Grant Knauss fellow where she supported the Effects of Sea Level Rise program. Her work included grant management and congressional outreach. Graduating with a B.S. from Rutgers University in meteorology and a M.S. in physical oceanography from Old Dominion University, Ali completed a number of projects including modeling polar amplification, reconstructing the 20th century sea level rise, and forecasting future nuisance flood events in Norfolk, VA.
