Hannah Tennent

Climate Change Specialist, Hoh Tribe

Hannah is a climate change specialist for the Hoh Indian Tribe’s Natural Resources Department. As a 2023-2024 WA Sea Grant Hershman Fellow for the Tribe, she interviewed Tribal members and created the department’s first climate change vulnerability assessment. Currently, her work focuses on communication projects and keeping the department updated on current climate-related opportunities. She is one of the staff members working to advance the Tribe’s interests in the West Coast Ocean Alliance.

Before working for the Hoh Tribe, Hannah worked in outdoor education and volunteer management for 7 years. She has a BA in Earth and Oceanographic Science from Bowdoin College and a MA in Marine and Environmental Affairs from the University of Washington. While completing her graduate degree, Hannah interned with the Port of Seattle's maritime environmental team and completed a capstone project for NOAA on community members’ interests in restoration along the Duwamish River.  Outside of work, you can find her pokingaround tide pools or trying new recipes.
