Peyton is a Land Use Planner with the City of Des Moines. She is a Certified Floodplain Manager with a background in environmental planning, specifically in shoreline and floodplain projects. In her role, she provides community assistance on all things land use and enjoys working on projects within Des Moines’ coastal areas. She has recently been exploring the world of long-range planning, and is involved with the Comprehensive Plan and Hazard Mitigation Plan updates for the City of Des Moines.

Peyton received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, with an emphasis in Natural Resource Planning and Management, from the University of Nevada, Reno. She attributes her love of the coastal environment to growing up in the great state of Alaska.
