Brittany Poirson is an Environmental Planner with the Washington Department of Natural Resources. She collaborates with internal and external partners to advance DNR's efforts in addressing sea level rise, develops mitigation strategies, assesses policy impacts on state-owned aquatic lands, and  identifies restoration and protection priorities for the agency. Before joining DNR, Brittany worked with the Partnership of Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans (PISCO) at Oregon State University, where she monitored intertidal communities in Oregon and California to enhance understanding of coastal processes and climate change. She holds a Master of Science in marine ecology from Georgia Southern University.
