Whaley, Savannah
Savannah is the Climate Change Manager for Lummi Nation Natural Resources Department. She works on coordinating implementation of climate projects across departments, with an emphasis on climate adaptation and resilience, and is leading the development of the 2026-2036 Lummi Nation Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan.
Prior to this role, she worked in a variety of sectors within the climate field, including local government sustainability and clean energy philanthropy. She has a BA in environmental history from Harvard University and an MS in Environmental Justice and Policy from the University of Michigan. Her graduate capstone project was with the Sault Ste Marie Tribe in Northern Michigan, promoting Indigenous land management in the face of climate change. Outside of work, you can find her reading speculative fiction or foraging for plants to cook with.
